email: [email protected] school phone: (920) 459-3573 Hello! My name is Mrs. Schueffner and I am your child's first grade teacher. I have been teaching for about 25 years with most of the time teaching first or second grade. I love teaching this age and coming to school every day! I am married and have twin teenage sons. My husband also teaches at the elementary level in the district so it seems we always have lots to talk about at home! I also spend lots of time reading, cooking and gardening. I believe that the communication between home and school is very important. I welcome any contacts through a note, email or phone call. I feel that we are a team and need to work together to make your child's year the very best it can be. Two Sculptors is a favorite poem that I think sums it up. |
Two Sculptors
I dreamed I saw a studio And watched two sculptors there. The clay they used was a child's mind And they fashioned it with care. One was a teacher - the tools she used Were books, music, and art. The other, a parent, worked with a guiding hand, And a gentle, loving heart. Day after day, the teacher toiled with a touch That was careful, deft, and sure, While the parent labored by his side And polished and smoothed it o'er. And when at last, their task was done, They were proud of what they had wrought. For the things they had molded into the child Could neither be sold nor bought. And each agreed they would have failed If either had worked alone. For behind the parent stood the school And behind the teacher, the home. -Anonymous |
